Can you talk about how we can best forgive ourselves and others for the reflections that have seemed painful, overwhelming, or confusing to us and allow things to be clearer?
Well, again the idea of holding on to a grudge, not forgiving, is the perpetuation of the energy that you say you don’t prefer. The original context of forgiveness is to stop seeking revenge or retribution against the situation or a person. So as long as you seek the idea of revenge, of retribution, of making people pay for what happened, then you are connecting yourself and anchoring yourself to the negative energy; the fear-based energy that you say you would like to let go of.

So forgiveness is the act of truly letting go and disconnecting from things that allow you to continue to create negative energy within your own energy field.
Forgiveness is freedom. It's freeing yourself from anything in the past that you feel affected you, because you have to recognize that since you are your own reality, you're only feeling your own energy. You’re only affecting yourself by agreeing with someone who was offering you a negative scenario, a negative vibration.
So forgiveness is letting go of holding on to that negative vibration. It is the cessation of punishing yourself and punishing them for having created the experience.
If you truly wish to be free, then forgive and let go & learn the lesson therein that will allow you to move forward.
